Higher or Lower is the fastest way to test how well you know the power scale of Solo Leveling. Two characters sit side by side: you can see the power level of the first one, and you have to call whether the second is stronger or weaker. Get it right and the second card becomes the new reference; get it wrong and the run is over.
It is one of the most replayed solo leveling games online on this site because a single run takes a couple of minutes and the question never feels settled. Where does the Ant King sit next to a National Level hunter? Every character in the roster has a power value, from civilians who barely register to Sung Jinwoo at the very top.
How to Play Higher or Lower
Your first run of the day is the Daily run. It has a two-minute clock and it is the one that counts for the daily leaderboard. Look at the current character's power level, then press Higher or Lower for the character next to them. Two characters with exactly the same power are never paired, so there is always a right answer.
Each correct call adds one point to your score and streak. One wrong call ends the run, but you get one extra life per day: the first time you miss, you can spend it to keep going with a fresh pair. When the clock hits zero the run ends too, and your score is saved.
After the Daily run you can play two Classic runs per day. Classic has no clock, so you can think about every call, and each Classic run comes with its own extra life. Classic scores count towards your XP, stats and the global board, but not the daily leaderboard. As your score climbs, the game gives you a title, starting at E-Rank Hunter and moving through S-Rank, National Level, Shadow Monarch, Monarch and Ruler before the final 'I ALONE LEVEL UP' rank at 47.
Higher or Lower Strategy
Build a rough ladder in your head. Civilians and non-hunters sit at the bottom, E to C-Rank hunters just above, then A-Rank guild officers, then S-Rank guild masters, then the National Level hunters, Shadow commanders and Monarchs near the top. Most calls are easy once you know which band each character belongs to; the difficult ones are neighbours inside the same band.
The displayed power numbers are not linear. The curve steepens sharply towards the top, so the gap between two S-Ranks can be larger than the gap between an E-Rank and a B-Rank. When the reference card shows a huge number, 'lower' is the safer default unless the other card is one of the handful of beings who clearly outclass it.
On the Daily run, speed matters as much as accuracy: two minutes goes quickly if you hesitate. Answer the obvious calls instantly and save your thinking time for pairs from the same band. Use your Classic runs to learn those close matchups without the clock.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a Daily run?
Two minutes. The run ends when the clock runs out or when you make a wrong call without an extra life left.
How many times can I play per day?
One timed Daily run, which counts for the daily leaderboard, plus two untimed Classic runs.
What happens if two characters have the same power?
It cannot happen: the game never pairs two characters with an identical power value.
What is the extra life?
A second chance. After your first wrong call you can continue with a new pair instead of ending the run. You get one per day on the Daily run and one per Classic run.
What is the highest rank?
'I ALONE LEVEL UP', which needs a score of 47. Before that come Ruler at 38, Monarch at 30 and Shadow Monarch at 23.
