Beru was the Ant King of Jeju Island — the most powerful magical beast in Korea, born from the mutation of the island's ant colony over years of exposure to dungeon mana. After a brutal battle on Jeju Island, Jinwoo slew Beru and performed the first successful Shadow Extraction on a creature of his caliber. As a shadow, Beru retains his vicious personality and has even developed the ability to speak, becoming one of the most vocal and opinionated members of the Shadow Army.

Beru is arrogant, territorial, and intensely competitive. He despises being outranked by other shadows and makes no secret of his ambition to be Jinwoo's strongest soldier. Beneath this pride lies absolute loyalty — he would sacrifice himself without hesitation for his master.

Blood-Claw is Beru's signature — a raking slash that coats wounds in a venom preventing healing and dealing damage over time. His maximum speed in flight is hypersonic, making him one of the most mobile combatants in the series. He also possesses a limited healing ability absorbed from Min Byunggyu.
